Introduction - I am Mo Filali

Hello, and welcome to my first blog post!

Camel on the beach in Tunisia
I am originally from Tunisia, where I worked as a dialysis nurse, but I have been living in Ireland for the past 7 years and am now proud to be an Irish Citizen. I am currently studying my final year of the Bachelor of Business degree at SETU Waterford, I started this academic journey after discovering I had a passion for business while working in retail, and hopefully will start my own business soon.

Barcelona FC logo

My great love is FC Barcelona, their slogan  “Mes Que un Club” is deeply meaningful. As yet I have been unable to travel to see a game in their stadium, but that will be my reward for completing my studies. I have obtained 4 certificates - Fan Engagement, Women’s Football Business, Social Media in Sports, and Digital Marketing, Sponsorship & Communication,  from Barça Innovation Hub, FC Barcelona's education platform, strengthening my bond even more.

Revenue Ireland logo

I am currently working for Revenue in Rosslare Europort as a Customs & Excise Officer, a job which I really enjoy. No two days are the same - one day we could be apprehending an illegal cargo of drugs, another we could be facilitating the transport of lions to Dublin Zoo. I'm honored to be a member of a team that protects our borders while facilitating the efficient movement of goods.

The demand for customs officers in Ireland has grown significantly since Brexit. Construction on the €170 million upgrade for Rosslare Europort began in August 2023, and it's fascinating to watch the port develop into an even more significant gateway for global trade.

Feel free to leave a comment!, I'd love to hear from you !!
